BaseFortify Integrates with ENISA's European Vulnerability Database (EUVD)

BaseFortify now supports EUVD identifiers as an alias for CVE IDs, making vulnerability lookup more flexible and reducing reliance on a single intelligence source.

Searching Vulnerabilities Using EUVD IDs

BaseFortify now supports EUVD identifiers as an alias for CVE IDs. This update helps reduce reliance on a single vulnerability intelligence source and improves resilience by incorporating additional trusted sources into the platform.

Vulnerabilities in BaseFortify may now include an EUVD ID alongside the traditional CVE identifier. This means vulnerabilities can be referenced using identifiers from either database without losing compatibility with existing CVE-based workflows.

Users can now search vulnerabilities using EUVD identifiers directly in the CVE table. The search interface recognises both CVE IDs and EUVD IDs and returns the same vulnerability entry.

For example, searching for an identifier such as EUVD-2026-2655 will locate the corresponding vulnerability in the same way as searching for a CVE identifier.

In addition, every CVE report in BaseFortify now includes a direct link to the ENISA EUVD report, allowing users to quickly view the European database entry alongside other vulnerability information such as CVSS scores, EPSS probability scores, and CISA KEV references.

The European Vulnerability Database Initiative

The European Vulnerability Database (EUVD) is an initiative by ENISA — the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity. Its purpose is to provide a European reference database for publicly disclosed vulnerabilities affecting products and services used across the EU.

The EUVD aggregates vulnerability information from multiple sources and aims to strengthen transparency and coordination in vulnerability disclosure. By maintaining its own vulnerability database, the EU improves situational awareness and reduces dependency on any single vulnerability intelligence provider.

Rather than replacing the CVE ecosystem, the EUVD complements it by offering an additional authoritative source of vulnerability information. Initiatives like this contribute to a more resilient global vulnerability infrastructure.

By integrating EUVD identifiers, BaseFortify ensures that vulnerabilities can be referenced across multiple trusted databases. If necessary, the platform could even migrate exclusively to EUVD identifiers in the future while maintaining the same vulnerability tracking capabilities.
