AI Powered Q&A
Can you explain this vulnerability to me?

This vulnerability is a path traversal issue in the Netgear SPH200D Skype phone firmware (versions <= 1.0.4.80). Authenticated attackers can send specially crafted GET requests to the embedded web server that include traversal sequences, allowing them to access files outside the intended web root directory. This means attackers can read arbitrary files on the device, potentially exposing sensitive system files and configuration data.

How can this vulnerability impact me? :

The vulnerability can allow an authenticated attacker to access sensitive system files and configuration data on the affected device. This exposure can lead to information disclosure, which might be used to further compromise the device or network, potentially impacting the confidentiality and security of your systems.
