Description
Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fbdev: fbcon: release buffer when fbcon_do_set_font() failed
syzbot is reporting memory leak at fbcon_do_set_font() [1], for
commit a5a923038d70 ("fbdev: fbcon: Properly revert changes when
vc_resize() failed") missed that the buffer might be newly allocated
by fbcon_set_font().

AI Powered Q&A
Can you explain this vulnerability to me?
This vulnerability is a memory leak in the Linux kernel's framebuffer console (fbcon) component. Specifically, when the function fbcon_do_set_font() fails, the buffer allocated by fbcon_set_font() is not properly released, leading to a memory leak.
How can this vulnerability impact me? :
The memory leak caused by this vulnerability can lead to increased memory usage over time, potentially degrading system performance or causing resource exhaustion if the issue occurs repeatedly.
