Description
Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
cifs: prevent use-after-free by freeing the cfile later
In smb2_compound_op we have a possible use-after-free
which can cause hard to debug problems later on.
This was revealed during stress testing with KASAN enabled
kernel. Fixing it by moving the cfile free call to
a few lines below, after the usage.

Exploitability
| CWE ID | Description |
|---|---|
| CWE-416 | The product reuses or references memory after it has been freed. At some point afterward, the memory may be allocated again and saved in another pointer, while the original pointer references a location somewhere within the new allocation. Any operations using the original pointer are no longer valid because the memory "belongs" to the code that operates on the new pointer. |
