Publication date: 2025-09-12

Last updated on: 2025-10-02

Assigner: MITRE

Description
OpenSynergy BlueSDK (aka Blue SDK) through 6.x has a Use-After-Free. The specific flaw exists within the BlueSDK Bluetooth stack. The issue results from the lack of validating the existence of an object before performing operations on the object (aka use after free). An attacker can leverage this to achieve remote code execution in the context of a user account under which the Bluetooth process runs.

CWE ID Description
CWE-416 The product reuses or references memory after it has been freed. At some point afterward, the memory may be allocated again and saved in another pointer, while the original pointer references a location somewhere within the new allocation. Any operations using the original pointer are no longer valid because the memory "belongs" to the code that operates on the new pointer.

AI Powered Q&A
Can you explain this vulnerability to me?

This vulnerability is a Use-After-Free flaw in the OpenSynergy BlueSDK Bluetooth stack up to version 6.x. It occurs because the software does not check if an object still exists before using it, which can lead to accessing memory that has already been freed.

How can this vulnerability impact me? :

An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code remotely with the privileges of the user account running the Bluetooth process, potentially compromising the affected system.
