BaseFortify

Publication date: 2025-09-24

Last updated on: 2025-11-03

Assigner: NVIDIA Corporation

Description
NVIDIA CUDA Toolkit for all platforms contains a vulnerability in nvdisasm where an attacker may cause a heap-based buffer overflow by getting the user to run nvdisasm on a malicious ELF file. A successful exploit of this vulnerability may lead to arbitrary code execution at the privilege level of the user running nvdisasm.

AI Powered Q&A
Can you explain this vulnerability to me?

This vulnerability exists in the NVIDIA CUDA Toolkit's nvdisasm tool, where processing a malicious ELF file can cause a heap-based buffer overflow. This overflow may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code with the same privileges as the user running nvdisasm.

How can this vulnerability impact me? :

If exploited, this vulnerability can allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on your system with your user privileges, potentially compromising your system's security depending on what actions the attacker takes.
