Executive Summary

This vulnerability in the Linux kernel involves the comparison of MACs (Message Authentication Codes) in a way that is not constant-time, which can allow timing attacks. The fix ensures that MAC comparisons are done in constant time using the appropriate helper function to prevent attackers from exploiting timing differences to gain information.

Impact Analysis

If exploited, this vulnerability could allow an attacker to perform timing attacks to potentially reveal sensitive information from MAC comparisons, which could compromise the integrity and security of communications or data protected by these MACs.
