AI Powered Q&A
Can you explain this vulnerability to me?

This vulnerability is a stored authenticated Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) issue in appRain CMF version 4.0.5. It occurs because the application does not properly validate user input in several configuration parameters, allowing an attacker with authenticated access to inject malicious scripts that are stored and later executed in the context of other users or administrators.

How can this vulnerability impact me? :

This vulnerability can allow an attacker to execute malicious scripts within the application, potentially leading to unauthorized actions, session hijacking, or theft of sensitive information from users who view the affected pages. Since it requires authenticated access, the attacker must have some level of user privileges, but the impact can still be significant depending on the roles of compromised users.
