Description
An issue was discovered in rust-ffmpeg 0.3.0 (after comit 5ac0527) Null pointer dereference vulnerability in the dump() method allows an attacker to cause a denial of service. The vulnerability exists because the method fails to check the return value of avfilter_graph_dump() for NULL, leading to a crash if the underlying memory allocation fails.

AI Powered Q&A
Can you explain this vulnerability to me?

This vulnerability is a null pointer dereference in the dump() method of rust-ffmpeg 0.3.0. It occurs because the method does not check if the avfilter_graph_dump() function returns NULL, which can happen if memory allocation fails. As a result, attempting to use this NULL pointer causes the program to crash.

How can this vulnerability impact me? :

This vulnerability can cause a denial of service by crashing the application when the dump() method is called and memory allocation fails. An attacker could exploit this to disrupt service availability.
