Executive Summary

This vulnerability is a memory leak in the Linux kernel's mt7915 WiFi driver. Specifically, the mt7915_mcu_exit routine did not always purge MCU skb queues if the firmware state failed, leading to a memory leak. The fix ensures that these queues are always purged to prevent the leak.

Impact Analysis

The memory leak could lead to increased memory usage over time, potentially causing system instability or crashes if the leaked memory accumulates. This could affect the reliability of devices using the affected WiFi driver.
