Executive Summary

This vulnerability is a flaw in libvirt where external inactive snapshots for shut-down virtual machines (VMs) are created with world-readable permissions. This means that unprivileged users can access and inspect the contents of the guest operating system, leading to information disclosure.

Impact Analysis

The vulnerability can lead to unauthorized information disclosure, as unprivileged users may gain access to sensitive data within the guest OS of shut-down VMs by reading the world-readable snapshots. This could compromise confidentiality of data stored or processed within those VMs.
