Description
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: target: iscsit: Free cmds before session free Commands from recovery entries are freed after session has been closed. That leads to use-after-free at command free or NPE with such call trace: Time2Retain timer expired for SID: 1, cleaning up iSCSI session. AI Powered Q&A
Can you explain this vulnerability to me?

This vulnerability in the Linux kernel's iSCSI target implementation involves improper freeing of commands from recovery entries after the session has been closed. This leads to a use-after-free condition or a null pointer dereference (NPE), causing kernel crashes or instability.

How can this vulnerability impact me? :

The vulnerability can cause kernel crashes or instability due to use-after-free or null pointer dereference errors in the iSCSI target subsystem. This may lead to denial of service or unexpected behavior on systems using the affected Linux kernel.
