AI Powered Q&A
Can you explain this vulnerability to me?
This vulnerability occurs in the Linux kernel's erofs filesystem decompression logic. When decompressing zstd-compressed data, if the compressed data is truncated or deliberately corrupted, the decompression process can enter an infinite loop, causing the system to hang or become unresponsive.
How can this vulnerability impact me? :
The vulnerability can cause the system to hang or become unresponsive due to the infinite loop in the decompression logic when processing crafted corrupted compressed data. This can lead to denial of service conditions.
