How can this vulnerability impact me? :
This vulnerability can cause the device to fail to enter suspend mode and lead to crashes of the AMD GPU driver when the device attempts to resume. This can result in system instability, potential data loss, or degraded device functionality related to power management and graphics.
Can you explain this vulnerability to me?
This vulnerability involves the Linux kernel's lack of support for the S0ix suspend state on the ROG Xbox Ally (non-X) SoC, which has a similar architecture to the Steam Deck. Unlike the Steam Deck, which supports S3 suspend, the Xbox Ally dropped S3 support and only supports S0ix suspend. Because the handler for S0ix suspend is missing, the device fails to suspend properly, and the AMD GPU driver crashes upon resume due to a power hang.
