CWE ID Description
CWE-416 The product reuses or references memory after it has been freed. At some point afterward, the memory may be allocated again and saved in another pointer, while the original pointer references a location somewhere within the new allocation. Any operations using the original pointer are no longer valid because the memory "belongs" to the code that operates on the new pointer.

Executive Summary

This vulnerability occurs when software running as a non-privileged user makes improper GPU system calls that lead to incorrect management of reference counting. This mismanagement can cause a use after free condition, where the software accesses memory that has already been freed, potentially leading to unexpected behavior or crashes.

Impact Analysis

The vulnerability can lead to use after free scenarios, which may cause software crashes, data corruption, or potentially allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code or escalate privileges by exploiting the improper memory management.
