AI Powered Q&A
Can you explain this vulnerability to me?
This vulnerability is a memory leak in the Linux kernel's idpf driver, specifically in the function idpf_vport_rel(). The issue occurs because the memory allocated for vport->rx_ptype_lkup is not freed during a reset, leading to a leak. This was reported by kmemleak, a memory leak detector.
How can this vulnerability impact me? :
The memory leak can cause increased memory usage over time, potentially leading to reduced system performance or stability issues if the leaked memory accumulates during repeated resets.
