Executive Summary

This vulnerability is a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) issue found in GFI MailEssentials AI versions prior to 22.4. It occurs on the Local Domains settings page, where an authenticated user can input HTML or JavaScript code into a specific parameter (ctl00$ContentPlaceHolder1$Pv3$txtDescription). This input is then stored and later displayed in the management interface, allowing the malicious script to execute in the context of a logged-in user.

Impact Analysis

The impact of this vulnerability is that an attacker with authenticated access can execute arbitrary scripts within the management interface. This can lead to unauthorized actions being performed on behalf of the logged-in user, potential theft of sensitive information, session hijacking, or other malicious activities that exploit the user's privileges.
