Description
A vulnerability has been found in D-Link DNS-120, DNR-202L, DNS-315L, DNS-320, DNS-320L, DNS-320LW, DNS-321, DNR-322L, DNS-323, DNS-325, DNS-326, DNS-327L, DNR-326, DNS-340L, DNS-343, DNS-345, DNS-726-4, DNS-1100-4, DNS-1200-05 and DNS-1550-04 up to 20260205. This issue affects the function Webdav_Upload_File of the file /cgi-bin/webdav_mgr.cgi. The manipulation of the argument f_file leads to stack-based buffer overflow. The attack is possible to be carried out remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used.

CWE ID Description
CWE-119 The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it reads from or writes to a memory location outside the buffer's intended boundary. This may result in read or write operations on unexpected memory locations that could be linked to other variables, data structures, or internal program data.
CWE-787 The product writes data past the end, or before the beginning, of the intended buffer.
CWE-121 A stack-based buffer overflow condition is a condition where the buffer being overwritten is allocated on the stack (i.e., is a local variable or, rarely, a parameter to a function).

AI Powered Q&A
Can you explain this vulnerability to me?

This vulnerability affects multiple D-Link devices and is related to the Webdav_Upload_File function in the /cgi-bin/webdav_mgr.cgi file. Specifically, manipulating the argument f_file can cause a stack-based buffer overflow. This means that an attacker can send specially crafted data remotely to overflow the buffer on the stack, potentially leading to unexpected behavior or control over the device.

How can this vulnerability impact me? :

The vulnerability allows remote attackers to exploit a stack-based buffer overflow, which can lead to severe impacts such as unauthorized control over the affected device. This can result in compromise of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the device and its data.
