CWE ID Description
CWE-89 The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Without sufficient removal or quoting of SQL syntax in user-controllable inputs, the generated SQL query can cause those inputs to be interpreted as SQL instead of ordinary user data.

AI Powered Q&A
Can you explain this vulnerability to me?

This vulnerability is an unauthenticated SQL Injection in the VerifyCreateLicences function. It occurs because special elements in a SQL SELECT command are not properly neutralized, allowing a low privileged remote attacker to exploit it.

Essentially, the attacker can manipulate the SQL query to access or retrieve sensitive information from the database without proper authorization.

How can this vulnerability impact me? :

The primary impact of this vulnerability is a total loss of confidentiality. An attacker exploiting this flaw can gain unauthorized access to sensitive data stored in the database.

How does this vulnerability affect compliance with common standards and regulations (like GDPR, HIPAA)?:

This vulnerability results in a total loss of confidentiality due to an unauthenticated SQL Injection, which can lead to unauthorized access to sensitive data.

Such a loss of confidentiality can negatively impact compliance with common standards and regulations like GDPR and HIPAA, which require the protection of personal and sensitive information.
