Executive Summary

This vulnerability is a NULL pointer dereference in the gf_odf_vvc_cfg_write_bs function within the odf/descriptors.c file of GPAC MP4Box version 2.4. It occurs when the software processes a specially crafted MP4 file, which causes the program to attempt to access memory through a NULL pointer.

This leads to a Denial of Service (DoS) condition, meaning the application can crash or become unresponsive.

Impact Analysis

The primary impact of this vulnerability is that an attacker can cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by supplying a crafted MP4 file to the vulnerable GPAC MP4Box software.

This can result in the application crashing or becoming unavailable, potentially disrupting services or workflows that rely on this software.
