Executive Summary

This vulnerability exists in the function edgetpu_sync_fence_group_shutdown() within the edgetpu-dmabuf.c file. It is caused by a use after free issue, which means the program accesses memory after it has been freed.

This flaw can lead to an elevation of privilege, allowing a local attacker to gain higher system privileges than intended.

Exploitation does not require any user interaction, but it does require the attacker to have local system execution privileges.

Impact Analysis

The vulnerability can allow a local attacker to escalate their privileges on the affected system.

This means an attacker with limited access could gain higher-level system privileges, potentially leading to unauthorized actions or control over the system.
