Executive Summary

This vulnerability is a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) issue in the PowerSchool Employee Access Center version 23.10. It occurs because the application improperly neutralizes input during web page generation. Impact Analysis

The vulnerability can allow an attacker to execute arbitrary JavaScript code in the context of a user’s browser session. This can lead to unauthorized actions such as stealing session tokens, redirecting users to malicious sites, or performing actions on behalf of the user without their consent.

Compliance Impact

The vulnerability is a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) issue in PowerSchool Employee Access Center that allows execution of arbitrary JavaScript code in the context of the user. Such vulnerabilities can lead to unauthorized access to user data or session hijacking, which may impact the confidentiality and integrity of personal information.

Because GDPR, HIPAA, and similar regulations require protection of personal and sensitive data, the presence of an XSS vulnerability could potentially lead to non-compliance if exploited to access or manipulate protected data.

However, the provided information does not explicitly state the direct impact on compliance with these standards.
