Executive Summary

This vulnerability is a Stack-based Buffer Overflow found in Adobe InDesign Desktop versions 21.3, 20.5.3, and earlier. It occurs when a specially crafted malicious file is opened by a user, which can cause the program to overwrite parts of memory on the stack.

Exploiting this vulnerability could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code with the same privileges as the current user.

However, exploitation requires user interaction, meaning the victim must open a malicious file for the attack to succeed.

Impact Analysis

If exploited, this vulnerability can lead to arbitrary code execution on your system with the privileges of the current user.

This could allow attackers to install malware, steal data, or perform other malicious actions depending on the user's permissions.

Since exploitation requires opening a malicious file, users must be cautious about the files they open in Adobe InDesign.
