Executive Summary

This vulnerability affects Substance3D - Sampler versions 6.0.0 and earlier. It is an out-of-bounds write vulnerability, which means that the software writes data outside the boundaries of allocated memory. This can lead to arbitrary code execution, allowing an attacker to run malicious code with the privileges of the current user.

Exploitation requires user interaction, specifically that the victim must open a malicious file to trigger the vulnerability.

Impact Analysis

If exploited, this vulnerability can allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on your system with the same privileges as the current user. This could lead to unauthorized actions such as installing malware, stealing data, or taking control of the affected system.

Since exploitation requires user interaction (opening a malicious file), the risk depends on the likelihood of a user opening such a file.
