Executive Summary

This is an authenticated OS command injection vulnerability in Helmholz myREX24V2 systems with firmware up to 2.20.0. A highly privileged remote attacker can exploit improper neutralization of special elements in an OS command within the system_certificates view to execute arbitrary system commands.

Detection Guidance

To detect CVE-2026-14448, check if your Helmholz myREX24V2 or myREX24V2.virtual systems are running firmware versions up to 2.20.0. Inspect network traffic for suspicious OS command injection attempts targeting the system_certificates view. Monitor logs for unauthorized command execution patterns.

Impact Analysis

Exploitation can lead to total loss of confidentiality, availability, and integrity of the affected system. Attackers could gain full control over the system, steal data, disrupt operations, or install malicious software.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could severely impact compliance by enabling unauthorized access to sensitive data, leading to violations of GDPR, HIPAA, or other regulations. Full system compromise may result in data breaches, unauthorized disclosure, and failure to meet security requirements.

Mitigation Strategies

Update the firmware of Helmholz myREX24V2 and myREX24V2.virtual systems to versions beyond 2.20.0 to address the authenticated OS command injection vulnerability in the system_certificates view.
