Description

The WP Business Intelligence Lite plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to authorization bypass in all versions up to, and including, 3.2.0. This is due to the plugin not properly verifying that a user is authorized to perform an action. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Subscriber-level access and above, to modify stored SQL queries, which can lead to privilege escalation via arbitrary SQL execution when the modified query is viewed by an administrator.

Executive Summary

The WP Business Intelligence Lite plugin for WordPress has an authorization bypass vulnerability in all versions up to and including 3.2.0.

This vulnerability occurs because the plugin does not properly verify whether a user is authorized to perform certain actions.

As a result, authenticated users with Subscriber-level access or higher can modify stored SQL queries.

When an administrator views the modified query, this can lead to privilege escalation through arbitrary SQL execution.

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability can allow an attacker with low-level access (Subscriber-level) to escalate their privileges by modifying SQL queries.

The attacker can execute arbitrary SQL commands when an administrator views the manipulated queries.
