CWE ID Description
CWE-89 The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Without sufficient removal or quoting of SQL syntax in user-controllable inputs, the generated SQL query can cause those inputs to be interpreted as SQL instead of ordinary user data.
CWE-74 The product constructs all or part of a command, data structure, or record using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify how it is parsed or interpreted when it is sent to a downstream component.

Attackers might modify, delete, or exfiltrate data, disrupt system operations, or gain control over the affected system. The public availability of the exploit increases the risk of real-world attacks.

Compliance Impact

This SQL injection vulnerability could lead to unauthorized data access or breaches, violating GDPR's data protection requirements and HIPAA's safeguards for protected health information. Organizations using this system may face compliance violations, legal penalties, and reputational damage if exploited.

Mitigation Strategies

Immediately restrict access to the vulnerable file path /admin/system/structure/updateStructure/deflate/Insecure/Staffshinel Ds.jsp. Apply input validation to sanitize the Structure_ID parameter to prevent SQL injection. Update to a patched version of the Multimedia Integrated Business Display System if available.
