Executive Summary

CVE-2026-40955 is an integer underflow vulnerability in the traffic parsing function of Secure Access clients before version 14.55. Attackers with full control over the tunnel protocol can exploit this to cause a temporary denial-of-service (DoS) on the client.

Detection Guidance

Detection requires monitoring for abnormal traffic patterns or client crashes during tunnel protocol interactions. Check Secure Access client logs for parsing errors or unexpected terminations. No specific commands are provided in the available resources.

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability allows attackers to disrupt the normal operation of Secure Access clients temporarily, causing service interruption but no persistent damage or data loss.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability does not directly impact compliance with GDPR or HIPAA as it only causes a non-persistent DoS condition without data exposure or persistent system compromise.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade Secure Access clients to version 14.55 or later to address the integer underflow vulnerability. Ensure tunnel protocol integrity by restricting unauthorized protocol modifications.
