Executive Summary

CVE-2026-44387 is a reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the WebUI of ELECOM wireless LAN routers and access points. If exploited, it allows an attacker to execute arbitrary scripts in the browser of a logged-in user.

Detection Guidance

This CVE describes a reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in ELECOM wireless LAN routers. Detection typically involves checking for vulnerable firmware versions on affected models. Use network scanning tools to identify ELECOM devices and verify their firmware versions against the affected releases listed in the CVE.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could trick a logged-in user into clicking a malicious link, leading to unauthorized script execution. This may result in session hijacking, data theft, or further compromise of the user's device or network.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability, a reflected cross-site scripting flaw in ELECOM wireless LAN routers, could potentially expose sensitive data processed or transmitted by these devices. For GDPR, it may lead to unauthorized access to personal data, violating principles of data protection and user consent. For HIPAA, if healthcare data is involved, it could compromise protected health information, leading to compliance breaches and legal penalties.

Mitigation Strategies

Update the firmware of affected ELECOM wireless LAN routers and access points to the latest version provided by the vendor. Affected models include WAB-M1775-PS v2.1.9 and earlier, WAB-S1775 v2.1.9 and earlier, WAB-M2133 v2.0.5 and earlier, WAB-I1750-PS v2.0.5 and earlier, and WAB-S1167-PS v2.0.5 and earlier.
