Executive Summary

This is a vulnerability in Oracle Coherence, a middleware product. It allows a low-privileged attacker with network access to exploit it via TCP. The flaw enables unauthorized actions like creating, deleting, or modifying critical data, as well as reading some data within Oracle Coherence.

Detection Guidance

Detection of CVE-2026-60305 requires checking for vulnerable versions of Oracle Coherence (12.2.1.4.0, 14.1.1.0.0, 14.1.2.0.0, 15.1.1.0.0). Inspect installed software versions and network services listening on TCP ports associated with Oracle Coherence. Monitor logs for unauthorized data access or modification attempts.

Impact Analysis

If you use Oracle Coherence versions 12.2.1.4.0, 14.1.1.0.0, 14.1.2.0.0, or 15.1.1.0.0, an attacker could access, alter, or delete sensitive data. This could lead to data breaches, loss of confidentiality, or integrity issues in your systems.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized data access or modification, violating GDPR's data protection principles or HIPAA's security requirements. Non-compliance may result in legal penalties, fines, or reputational damage.

Mitigation Strategies

Apply the latest security patches from Oracle for affected Oracle Coherence versions (12.2.1.4.0, 14.1.1.0.0, 14.1.2.0.0, 15.1.1.0.0). Restrict network access to TCP ports used by Oracle Coherence to trusted sources only. Review and enforce least-privilege access controls for users with network access to the system.
