Detection Guidance

Detecting this vulnerability requires checking for vulnerable versions of Oracle WebLogic Server. Use commands like 'curl -v http://<target>:7001/console' or 'nmap -p 7001 <target> -sV' to identify running WebLogic instances. Verify version details in server logs or via admin console.

Impact Analysis

If you use Oracle WebLogic Server versions 12.2.1.4.0, 14.1.1.0.0, 14.1.2.0.0, or 15.1.1.0.0, an attacker could gain control of your server, leading to data breaches, service disruption, or further network compromise.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive data, which may violate GDPR, HIPAA, or other regulations requiring data protection and access controls. Compliance violations may result in legal penalties or reputational damage.

Mitigation Strategies

Apply the latest Oracle WebLogic Server patches immediately. Restrict network access to T3 and IIOP ports (default 7001, 7002) using firewalls. Disable unnecessary protocols if possible. Monitor for unusual activity and update to supported versions (12.2.1.4.0 or later).
