Executive Summary

This is a vulnerability in Oracle Data Integrator, specifically in the Patchset Assistant component. It affects versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.0.0. The issue allows a low-privileged attacker with local system access to read some data accessible by Oracle Data Integrator without needing higher permissions.

Detection Guidance

This vulnerability is specific to Oracle Data Integrator and requires local system access to exploit. Detection should focus on verifying the Oracle Data Integrator version and applying Oracle's official patches. Check the installed version using Oracle's tools or commands like 'opatch lsinventory' if applicable. Ensure the Patchset Assistant has been updated to a non-vulnerable version.

Impact Analysis

If you use Oracle Data Integrator versions 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.0.0, an attacker with local access could exploit this to read sensitive data that the application can access. This could lead to unauthorized data exposure, though it does not allow modification or deletion of data.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could impact compliance by allowing unauthorized access to sensitive data, which may violate GDPR (data protection) or HIPAA (health information privacy) requirements. Organizations must ensure proper access controls to mitigate such risks.

Mitigation Strategies

Apply the latest Oracle Data Integrator patches or updates provided by Oracle to address the vulnerability in the Patchset Assistant component.
