Executive Summary

This is a critical vulnerability in Oracle Identity Manager, a product under Oracle Fusion Middleware. It affects versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.1.0. The flaw allows an unauthenticated attacker to remotely compromise the system via network access using T3 or IIOP protocols. Successful exploitation could lead to complete takeover of Oracle Identity Manager.

Detection Guidance

Detecting this vulnerability requires checking for Oracle Identity Manager instances exposed to T3 or IIOP protocols. Use network scanning tools like nmap to identify open ports 7001 (default for T3) or 900 (default for IIOP). Example command: nmap -p 7001,900 <target_IP>. Verify if Oracle Identity Manager versions 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.1.0 are running.

Impact Analysis

If you use Oracle Identity Manager versions 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.1.0, an attacker could exploit this to gain full control over your system. This could result in unauthorized access to sensitive data, modification of system configurations, or disruption of services.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access or data breaches, which may violate compliance requirements under GDPR, HIPAA, or other regulations. Organizations using affected versions must address this to maintain regulatory compliance and protect sensitive data.

Mitigation Strategies

Immediately apply the latest Oracle Critical Patch Update for Oracle Identity Manager. Restrict network access to T3 and IIOP ports via firewall rules. Disable legacy UI components if not required. Monitor Oracle Security Alerts for updates.
