Executive Summary

This is a vulnerability in Oracle MySQL Server and MySQL Cluster where a high-privileged attacker with network access can exploit it to gain unauthorized read access to a subset of data. The affected versions are MySQL Server 8.4.0-8.4.10 and 9.7.0-9.7.1, and MySQL Cluster 8.0.0-8.0.47, 8.4.0-8.4.10, and 9.7.0-9.7.1.

Impact Analysis

The impact is limited to unauthorized read access to a subset of data in MySQL Server or Cluster. Since the attacker needs high privileges and network access, the risk is lower unless such access is already compromised. Confidentiality is affected but integrity and availability remain intact.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade MySQL Server to versions 8.4.11 or later, or 9.7.2 or later. For MySQL Cluster, upgrade to 8.0.48 or later, 8.4.11 or later, or 9.7.2 or later. Apply patches from Oracle as soon as possible.
