Executive Summary

This is a vulnerability in Oracle Identity Manager, a product under Oracle Fusion Middleware. It affects versions 12.2.1.4.0 and 14.1.2.1.0. The flaw allows an unauthenticated attacker to remotely access the system via HTTP and exploit it to gain unauthorized access to critical data or modify existing data.

Detection Guidance

Detection requires checking for Oracle Identity Manager versions 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.1.0 running on your systems. Verify if the OIM Legacy UI component is exposed to HTTP network access. Use commands like 'curl -I http://[target]/oim' or 'nmap -p 80,443 [target]' to identify exposed interfaces.

Impact Analysis

If you use Oracle Identity Manager versions 12.2.1.4.0 or 14.1.2.1.0, an attacker could exploit this to create, delete, or modify critical data without authentication. This could lead to data breaches, loss of sensitive information, or unauthorized system access.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access or modification of sensitive data, which may violate compliance requirements under GDPR, HIPAA, or other regulations. Organizations using affected versions may face legal penalties or reputational damage due to data breaches.

Mitigation Strategies

Apply Oracle's official patches or updates for Oracle Identity Manager immediately. If patches are unavailable, restrict HTTP access to the OIM Legacy UI component via firewall rules or disable the component if not required. Monitor for unauthorized access attempts.
