Description

The Kali Forms β€” Contact Form & Drag-and-Drop Builder plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'meta[kaliforms_field_components]' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 2.4.13 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.

Executive Summary

The Kali Forms β€” Contact Form & Drag-and-Drop Builder plugin for WordPress has a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in all versions up to and including 2.4.13. This vulnerability exists because the plugin does not properly sanitize input or escape output for the 'meta[kaliforms_field_components]' parameter. As a result, authenticated users with contributor-level access or higher can inject malicious web scripts into pages. These scripts execute whenever any user accesses the affected page.

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability allows attackers with contributor-level access or above to inject arbitrary scripts into web pages. These scripts can execute in the context of other users visiting the page, potentially leading to theft of user credentials, session hijacking, defacement, or other malicious actions. Because the vulnerability is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting issue, the injected scripts persist on the site and affect all users who view the compromised pages.
