Executive Summary

CVE-2026-13176 is a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in the Eventin WordPress plugin before version 4.1.21. It allows users with contributor-level access or higher to store a malicious webhook URL on events without validation or ownership verification. This enables attackers to trigger blind SSRF requests to arbitrary hosts.

Detection Guidance

Check WordPress plugin versions for Eventin. If using version before 4.1.21, the system is vulnerable. Inspect event configurations for unauthorized webhook URLs or suspicious network requests.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could exploit this to make the server send requests to internal or external systems, potentially accessing sensitive data or services. This could lead to data breaches, unauthorized access, or further attacks on connected systems.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized data access or exfiltration, violating GDPR's data protection requirements or HIPAA's safeguards for protected health information. Compliance may be compromised if sensitive data is exposed through SSRF attacks.

Mitigation Strategies

Update the Eventin WordPress plugin to version 4.1.21 or later immediately. Review and remove any unauthorized webhook URLs from events. Restrict contributor-level access to trusted users only.
