Executive Summary

This vulnerability is an out of bounds write issue in the GPU component of Google Chrome on Linux. It affects versions prior to 151.0.7922.109. A remote attacker who has already compromised the renderer process could exploit this flaw to potentially escape the sandbox security restrictions via a specially crafted HTML page.

Detection Guidance

Detection requires checking the Google Chrome version. Run: google-chrome --version. If the version is below 151.0.7922.109, the system is vulnerable.

Impact Analysis

If you are using an affected version of Google Chrome on Linux, this vulnerability could allow an attacker who has already gained control of the renderer process to break out of the sandbox. This could lead to further system compromise, unauthorized access, or execution of malicious code on your device.

Mitigation Strategies

Update Google Chrome to version 151.0.7922.109 or later immediately. Disable automatic updates temporarily if needed, but prioritize patching.
