Executive Summary

CVE-2026-19314 is an integer underflow vulnerability in WatchGuard Fireware OS's iked process. It allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to send specially crafted network traffic that could cause a Denial of Service (DoS) in VPN processing by triggering a buffer overflow in the IKE daemon.

Detection Guidance

Monitor VPN service logs for unusual traffic patterns or crashes in the iked process. Check Fireware OS version against affected ranges (2025.0 to <2026.2.2, 12.0 to <12.12.2, or T15/T35 models <12.5.20). Use network traffic analysis tools to detect malformed IKE packets.

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability could allow attackers to disrupt VPN services, causing network outages or degraded performance. It may lead to system crashes or instability in affected WatchGuard Fireware OS versions, impacting secure remote access and communications.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade Fireware OS to versions 2026.2.2, 12.12.2, or 12.5.20 or later. If immediate upgrade isn't possible, restrict VPN access via firewall rules until patched. Monitor iked process stability and VPN service availability.
