Executive Summary

This vulnerability involves the email media OAuth field 'Client secret' becoming unreadable after saving. A Super Admin can exploit it by setting a malicious 'Token endpoint' to leak the client secret. Changes were made to reset the client secret when the token endpoint is modified.

Detection Guidance

This vulnerability involves a client secret leak when a Super Admin sets a malicious Token endpoint. Detection requires checking OAuth configurations for unauthorized changes to the Token endpoint and verifying client secret exposure in logs or database entries.

Impact Analysis

An attacker with Super Admin privileges could access the leaked client secret, potentially allowing unauthorized access to email media OAuth services. This could lead to data breaches or unauthorized actions within the system.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive data, potentially violating GDPR (data protection) and HIPAA (health information privacy) requirements. Compliance may be impacted if unauthorized access results in data exposure or loss.

Mitigation Strategies

Restrict Super Admin privileges to trusted users only. Regularly audit OAuth token endpoint configurations for malicious changes. Reset client secrets after any token endpoint modification.
