Executive Summary

This vulnerability is in NVIDIA DGX Spark's standalone MM firmware where an attacker could cause an out-of-bounds read. Exploiting it might lead to information disclosure.

Detection Guidance

Detection requires checking the NVIDIA DGX Spark firmware version. Use the command 'sudo dmidecode -t bios' to verify UEFI platform compatibility and compare the firmware version against the affected range (0 to 1.110.12).

Review system logs for out-of-bounds read errors or MM firmware anomalies. Check NVIDIA's product security page for updated detection tools or scripts.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could exploit this to read memory outside intended boundaries, potentially accessing sensitive information stored in the system.

Compliance Impact

The vulnerability allows information disclosure through an out-of-bounds read in NVIDIA DGX Spark's firmware. This could potentially expose sensitive data, which may impact compliance with regulations like GDPR (requiring protection of personal data) and HIPAA (requiring safeguarding of health information). Unauthorized access to such data could lead to violations of these standards.

Mitigation Strategies

Update NVIDIA DGX Spark firmware to the latest version (1.110.12 or later) via NVIDIA's official update channels. Disable unnecessary MM firmware services if updates are unavailable.

Restrict access to UEFI settings and firmware update tools to authorized personnel only. Monitor for unusual system behavior or information disclosure events.
