Executive Summary

NVIDIA DGX Spark has a vulnerability in its system firmware where a privileged attacker could exploit an out-of-bounds write issue. This flaw may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code, escalate privileges, disrupt services, access sensitive information, or alter data.

Detection Guidance

Detection requires checking DGX Spark firmware versions against the affected range (0 to 1.110.12) on UEFI platforms. Use NVIDIA's product security tools or firmware update utilities to verify the installed version. No specific commands are provided in the available resources.

Impact Analysis

If exploited, this vulnerability could lead to unauthorized code execution, privilege escalation, system crashes, data leaks, or data tampering. Attackers with sufficient access could gain control over affected systems.

Compliance Impact

The vulnerability in NVIDIA DGX Spark firmware could lead to information disclosure and data tampering, which may violate GDPR and HIPAA requirements for data confidentiality and integrity. Unauthorized code execution or privilege escalation could also compromise access controls mandated by these regulations.

Mitigation Strategies

Update DGX Spark firmware to version 1.110.12 or later to address the out-of-bounds write vulnerability. Restrict physical and remote access to privileged users only. Monitor system logs for unusual activity and apply NVIDIA's security advisories promptly.
