Executive Summary

This vulnerability is an incorrect access control issue in the setLanguageCfg function of TOTOLINK T6 firmware version 4.1.5cu.748_B20211015. It allows unauthenticated attackers to modify the language configuration by sending a specially crafted POST request to the vulnerable endpoint /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi.

Detection Guidance

Detect this vulnerability by checking for unauthorized POST requests to /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi with language configuration changes. Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity targeting TOTOLINK T6 devices.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could exploit this to change the device's language settings, potentially causing confusion or misconfiguration. While not directly leading to data loss, it may indicate deeper security flaws or serve as a stepping stone for further attacks on the device.

Compliance Impact
