Executive Summary

This vulnerability involves improper verification of cryptographic signatures and improper handling of unusual or exceptional conditions in several Estonian digital signature applications. It affects libdigidocpp versions before 4.2.1, DigiDoc4 versions before 4.8.2, DigiDoc on Android versions before 2.7.2, and DigiDoc on iOS versions before 2.8.1.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could exploit this to bypass signature verification, potentially allowing forged or tampered documents to be accepted as valid. This could lead to unauthorized transactions, legal disputes, or data integrity issues if using affected versions of these applications.

Mitigation Strategies

Update affected software to the latest patched versions: libdigidocpp to 4.2.1 or later, DigiDoc4 to 4.8.2 or later, DigiDoc on Android to 2.7.2 or later, and DigiDoc on iOS to 2.8.1 or later.
