Executive Summary

This is a vulnerability in Oracle WebLogic Server, a middleware product. It allows a low-privileged attacker with network access to take over the server via T3 or IIOP protocols. The attack can impact additional products due to scope change. The CVSS score is 9.9, indicating high severity with impacts on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

Detection Guidance

Detecting this vulnerability requires checking for vulnerable versions of Oracle WebLogic Server. Use commands like 'curl -v http://<target>:<port>/console' or 'nmap -p <port> --script oracle-weblogic-t3-info <target>' to identify exposed WebLogic instances. Verify server version via '/console/console.portal' or check logs for T3/IIOP access attempts.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could exploit this to gain full control of the Oracle WebLogic Server, leading to unauthorized access, data theft, or disruption of services. Since the attack can affect other products, the impact may extend beyond the server itself.

Mitigation Strategies

Apply the latest Oracle WebLogic Server patches immediately. Restrict network access to T3 and IIOP ports (default 7001, 7002) via firewalls. Disable unnecessary protocols if not used. Monitor for unusual activity and update intrusion detection systems to detect exploitation attempts.
