Executive Summary

This is a vulnerability in Oracle Agile PLM MCAD Connector version 3.6. It allows an unauthenticated attacker with physical access to the network segment where the software runs to exploit it. The vulnerability can lead to unauthorized access to critical data or complete access to all data accessible by the connector. It may also allow unauthorized modifications to some of this data.

Detection Guidance

This vulnerability requires physical access to the network segment where the Oracle Agile PLM MCAD Connector executes, making remote detection challenging. Monitor network traffic for unusual activity on the physical segment and inspect logs for unauthorized access attempts to the Oracle Agile PLM MCAD Connector.

Impact Analysis

If you use Oracle Agile PLM MCAD Connector version 3.6, an attacker with physical network access could steal sensitive data, modify or delete important information, or gain full control over the system. This could disrupt operations and lead to data breaches or loss of intellectual property.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access or modification of sensitive data, which may violate GDPR, HIPAA, or other regulations requiring strict data protection. Non-compliance risks include legal penalties, fines, and reputational damage due to data breaches.

Mitigation Strategies

Apply the latest security patches from Oracle for Oracle Agile PLM MCAD Connector version 3.6. Restrict physical access to the network segment where the hardware executes the connector to prevent unauthorized attackers from exploiting the vulnerability.
