Executive Summary

This vulnerability affects Oracle Fusion Middleware's Helidon product, specifically version 4.5.0. It allows an unauthenticated attacker to remotely access the Imperative Web Server component via HTTP. Successful exploitation could lead to unauthorized access to critical or all accessible data in Helidon.

Detection Guidance

This vulnerability affects Oracle Helidon 4.5.0 via the Imperative Web Server component. To detect it, check if your system is running Helidon 4.5.0 using commands like 'java -jar helidon.jar --version' or inspecting application logs for Helidon startup messages. Scan network traffic for HTTP requests targeting Helidon services on default ports (e.g., 8080).

No specific detection commands are provided in the CVE details. Focus on identifying Helidon 4.5.0 instances and monitoring for unauthorized HTTP access attempts.

Impact Analysis

If you use Helidon 4.5.0, an attacker could gain access to sensitive data stored or processed by the Imperative Web Server. This may result in data breaches, loss of confidential information, or further system compromise depending on the exposed data.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to non-compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, or other regulations due to unauthorized data access. Organizations may face legal penalties, fines, or reputational damage if sensitive data like personal or health information is compromised.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade Helidon to a version later than 4.5.0 to address the vulnerability. If immediate upgrade is not possible, restrict network access to the Imperative Web Server component via firewall rules or network segmentation.
