Executive Summary

The Auto x LINE WordPress plugin through version 1.0.0 lacks authorization checks in some REST endpoints. This allows unauthenticated users to call these endpoints and perform actions like updating plugin settings or clearing logs without proper permissions.

Detection Guidance

Check for unauthorized changes in the Auto x LINE plugin settings or logs. Inspect WordPress REST API endpoints for the plugin by sending requests to /wp-json/auto-x-line/v1/ or similar paths. Look for responses indicating missing authorization checks.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could exploit this to change plugin settings, clear logs, or bind the plugin to their own LINE data. This could lead to unauthorized access, data leaks, or disruption of plugin functionality.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized data access or modifications, potentially violating GDPR (data protection) or HIPAA (health data privacy) by exposing sensitive information or failing to maintain proper access controls.

Mitigation Strategies

Disable the Auto x LINE plugin immediately if installed. Restrict access to WordPress admin panels and API endpoints. Monitor logs for suspicious activity related to the plugin. Consider implementing a web application firewall to block unauthorized REST API calls.
