Executive Summary

EasyFlow .NET by Digiwin has a Reflected Cross-site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. Unauthenticated remote attackers can inject and execute arbitrary JavaScript code in a user's browser through phishing attacks.

Detection Guidance

This vulnerability is a Reflected Cross-site Scripting (XSS) issue in EasyFlow .NET. Detection typically involves checking web application inputs for improperly sanitized user-supplied data. Manually test input fields by injecting harmless JavaScript payloads like <script>alert(1)</script> and observe if the script executes. Use browser developer tools to inspect responses for reflected payloads.

Impact Analysis

Attackers could steal session cookies, redirect users to malicious sites, or perform actions on behalf of users. This could lead to account takeovers or unauthorized data access.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could violate data protection requirements under GDPR and HIPAA by enabling unauthorized access to sensitive user data or session hijacking.

Mitigation Strategies

Apply vendor patches or updates for EasyFlow .NET immediately. Disable or restrict access to the vulnerable application if patches are unavailable. Implement input validation and output encoding to prevent XSS attacks. Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity.
