Description

AiSOC versions 5.1.0 before 12.0.0 contain an authentication bypass vulnerability in the realtime service internal endpoints POST /internal/agent-event and POST /internal/push. Attackers can post arbitrary events with spoofed tenant identifiers to broadcast malicious content over WebSocket and Redis SSE channels or send unauthorized notifications to registered devices.

Executive Summary

AiSOC versions 5.1.0 to 11.2.0 have an authentication bypass flaw in the realtime service. Attackers can exploit POST /internal/agent-event and POST /internal/push endpoints by sending arbitrary events with fake tenant IDs. This allows broadcasting malicious content via WebSocket and Redis SSE channels or sending unauthorized notifications to devices.

Detection Guidance

Check for unauthorized POST requests to /internal/agent-event or /internal/push endpoints in AiSOC realtime service logs. Monitor WebSocket and Redis SSE channels for unexpected broadcasts or notifications. Verify tenant identifiers in event headers are consistent with expected sources.

Impact Analysis

Attackers could inject malicious content into live streams or push notifications for any tenant. This may lead to unauthorized access, data exposure, or disruption of services relying on AiSOC's realtime updates. Devices receiving notifications could be compromised or misled.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could violate GDPR's integrity and confidentiality requirements by allowing unauthorized data access or manipulation. For HIPAA, it may compromise protected health information integrity if realtime notifications are spoofed. Compliance depends on affected data types and breach impact.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade AiSOC to version 12.0.0 or later to address the authentication bypass. Ensure secrets are properly passed to containers and avoid hardcoded constants. Implement constant-time comparisons for token validation and fail closed if secrets are unset.
